Facilities and Staff

We are a British Horse Society (BHS) approved Riding School.

We have stables available, but when the horses are not working they prefer to live out together in nearby fields as a happy herd.

We have a 40m x 20m outdoor arena, a jumping paddock, moveable jumps and cross-country jumps available for use in lessons.

Wendy the chief instructor is a BHS Intermediate Instructor. An Assistant Instructor or student instructors are also available occasionally.

We have a rest area available for people on half day courses or longer, where tea, coffee and lunch are provided when included in the course.

Although we cannot offer on-site accommodation, there are many premises nearby that do.

Horses and Ponies

TOP

We have horses and ponies available to suit a wide range of riders, they are matched together depending on height, weight, and experience.

Our equines happily take part in lessons at different levels, and love riding out whether it be a relaxed ride with beginners or a faster ride with more experienced riders.

Some of the horses and ponies get taken to local shows to take part in show jumping, cross-country, dressage, games and showing. A few of the horses have competed and been placed in the 'trekking horse' class at the prestigious Royal Welsh Show.

Friendly and Fun

TOP

Horses and humans alike, we enjoy getting together for fun events.

Some of the events are for horses and humans, such as gymkhanas and special rides (see 'Activities' for more information).

Some events the horses can't join in (even if they might think they'd like to help us clear our plates)...

  • Food and Drink: Christmas Dinner, Summer Charity Barbeque, other get-togethers throughout the year
  • Horse Shows: Trips to shows as riders or to support riders from the yard
  • Trips: elsewhere including Badminton, the British Show Jumping Derby, the Royal Welsh Show and more to come

We are always open to new and fun events, and have some new activities in the planning stages for the year ahead.

BOOKING

Be sure to read the booking instructions.

Bookings must be made beforehand. Please read the 'Booking' section on how to contact us. If you have a clear understanding of what you want and the heights, weights and experience of each rider when you call it is much easier for us to help you arrange what you want.

A booking deposit for each rider must reach us before the day of the ride, and a booking form will need to be completed and given to us.

Please note that certain rides are only available for more experienced riders. Each ride will begin in an enclosed area, allowing the horse and rider to get used to each other, and allowing the Ride Leader to gauge the experience of riders. The speed and location of the ride will depend on this pre-assessment for safety reasons.

The minimum age for riding is 4 years old. The minimum age for riding out is 10 years old.

Click on the bookings tab for more information on booking and riding conditions.
